Terrible twos
So over the past two days my son has been testing me. He has been acting so bad that I honestly don't know what to do about it. But of course as soon as dear ole dad gets home he's a perfect angel. I have officially decided that I'm not calling it the "Terrible Twos" anymore, I am going to call it the "Temper Tantrum Twos". I have never seen my son throw himself in the floor as many times as I have in the past two days! And of course it's always for something stupid, like him not being able to put a toy back together and when I ask him if he wants me to help him he says no, so when I tell him that there is nothing I can do since he doesn't want my help, BAM! goes his little body into our dining room floor as he screams and cries. another great example is when he tells me he wants cake right before it's time for bed. I Tell him "No baby, It's too late for cake, it's almost bedtime you can have some after dinner tomorrow." BAM! onto the floor, I mean I get it he's 2, his toys not fitting together and not getting cake are the hardest part of his day, but come on kid! If I've learned anything in my life it's that screaming and crying and throwing yourself in the floor don't get you anything! These last 2 days haven't just been the temper tantrums, his hitting is at an all time high! He will accidently hit daddy and he gets in trouble and he just says okay and moves on with his day, but when he hits me and I get on to him for some reason he thinks that means "maybe I should hit her again?" I don't understand it, then after the second time he hits me I give him a whooping and you would think I just ripped his arm off and he screams and cries and almost makes him self throw up (flash back to my first post) and after about 3 minutes he stops and just continues playing like nothing happened. I don't get it but I guess that's what makes me fed up.
